U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ), Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement today on the confirmation of General James Mattis to the position of Secretary of Defense:

"I congratulate Secretary of Defense James Mattis on his confirmation by the United States Senate. I look forward to working with him on the many issues confronting the Department of Defense and our military service members. America is fortunate to have Secretary Mattis in her service once again."
